The Emotional Eating Lab is an experiential group program that invites participants to explore their relationship with food, their body, and their emotions within a safe and supportive group setting.
Group format
• A stable, closed group of 8–10 participants
• Eight (8) in-person sessions
• Experiential exercises, discussion, and sharing of experiences
This group is for individuals who:
• Wish to understand the neurobiological and psycho-emotional dimensions of emotional eating
• Are interested in exploring their relationship with food and their body
• Want to process the connection between food and emotions through experiential practices
• Want to recognize and name their emotions in relation to eating
• Wish to learn self-regulation techniques to manage difficult or intense emotions without turning to food
• Want to cultivate greater awareness of their internal needs and triggers related to emotional eating
• Are interested in developing alternative ways of self-care in everyday life
• Wish to strengthen their connection with their body and its hunger/satiety signals
• Want to develop a more compassionate and non-judgmental inner dialogue
• Are able to commit to consistent participation throughout the program
The program:
• Is not a psychotherapy intervention
• Does not aim at weight loss or weight regulation
• Does not provide dietary guidelines or rules
• Is not based on goals, measurements, or outcome evaluation
